Description:

When her fiancé called off the wedding and told her he’d had better sex with a blow up doll, Candace traded in her honeymoon cruise for a week on the Lothario, the most notorious ship to ever sail the high seas. Little does she know that Ryan, the sexy passenger who offered to be her escort as she samples all the ship has to offer, is really Ryan Callahan, the ship’s playboy owner.

Ryan Callahan is single, rich, and considered quite the catch. Two years ago he and his business partner launched the Lothario, a floating den of iniquity where passengers can indulge their every sexual fantasy, but since the ship docked following its maiden cruise, Ryan has been so scarce he’s earned the nickname, Monk, until sweet, naïve Candace coaxes him out of his tower, heats his blood, and steals his heart. But, will she still want him when she finds out who he really is?

Laura’s Review:

I’ve been laughing since the first page of this story.  And then things got intense.  And then all kinds of steamy.   But there was always that underlying sense of humor.  Also…I really want to go on this cruise.  Which may be way too much information for anyone reading this review, but seriously.  Read the book.  You’ll understand why.  Just don’t hum the theme to “The Love Boat” while reading.  It will distract you.

Ryan is a disillusioned cruise ship owner.  And not just any ship.  The Lothario  Ryan meets Candace when she spontaneously decides to book a cruise.  Candace was basically forced to come on the cruise by her best friends because she had just been left at the altar.  No better way to get over a jackass fiancé than to have a week full of sexual pleasure, right?  Right. is a pleasure boat (think “The Love Boat” if it had aired on late night Cinemax).

There’s just one problem: Candace isn’t quite as uninhibited as the rest of the passengers.  Actually, she’s pretty freaked out about the whole thing.  Until she meets Ryan, who recognizes that she’s a bit more naïve than most and decides to rescue her.  Of course, he hides the fact that he’s part owner of the ship from Candace.

Candace and Ryan explore a little bit of everything that the ship has to offer: sensual massage, oral sex classes, bondage, etc.  The best part is that it doesn’t seem forced or overdone because there are so many different things that happen.  Candace and Ryan get to know each other as intimately as possible, and each learns a little something about themselves along the way.

I really liked this one.  I know I say this a lot, but the characters were real.  Candace’s insecurities were easy to understand.  Watching her grow in her relationship with Ryan is something that everyone should be able to relate to.  Some of the scenes in the ship’s various bars or at entertainments were so outrageous and over the top that I just had to laugh.  But at the same time, I honestly wouldn’t expect anything different from a cruise of this nature.

With a title like The Lust Boat, this book was either going to be full of intensely erotic sex or it was going to be full of bad clichés and euphemisms.  Thankfully, it was the former.  Roz Lee does a tremendous job describing things to the point where you are easily able to put yourself in the character’s shoes.  Or bed, as it were.  So fair warning:  If you are not the type who enjoys reading exceptionally graphic sex scenes, this book is probably not for you.  Of course, Candace didn’t really think she was that type either, but she…um…enjoyed herself, if you catch my meaning.
