Description:
Asia Pierce always gets what she wants. There's only one thing she wants...the one thing she can't seem to get right...the perfect man and the perfect relationship. With three men vying for her heart, which one will she choose? Or will she let her past decisions and bad relationships prevent her from making the right choice?
Joey’s Review:
Change of Heart is a unique story, in that it lets the characters tell their side of it all. It’s complicated, not because of a storyline that is hard to follow, but because we get to play omniscient as we hop into each characters minds. One would think that, when reading a book, we usually get that omniscience, but we’re still at the mercy of the author and what she chooses to reveal about her players. Not such an easy ride, however, when you get that character you love to hate, like ‘the other woman’. Because we can’t hate her completely, since she’s confessing all. We get to see the wounded part of her. The insecurity. The blindness to her own selfishness because of how desperate she is for love.
That kind of story is right up my alley. I do love the head trip. And Jackie Chanel delivers in Change of Heart, a story about Asia, a basketball player with dreams of making it as a pro, all while trying to get that love thing down.
It’s one of those stories I can’t say too much about, plot-wise, because its best left discovered by the reader. The gem of the piece is the introspection we get to see in a story that is simultaneously simple and multi-layered.
And naturally, I love any story that has the courage to explore the male point of view regarding love without forgetting the simple fact that men and women do NOT think the same way. It’s my literary fetish. And when an author gets it right, I’m sold.

I have been following the Masquerade this week and it has brought me to your lovely site. About a year ago I was introduced to this phenomenon known as the indie collective and it opened my eyes to the the world of book blogging and fellow lovers of books. Once again they have brought me to a site that I think I will love and have signed up to follow, looking forward to what you have to share. I think Change of Heart sounds awesome and I cannot wait to get my grubby paws on it. I appreciate your wonderful review and especially your comment "It’s one of those stories I can’t say too much about, plot-wise, because its best left discovered by the reader." I love that and it only makes me want to read what sounds like a lovely story even more. Thank you for sharing and for participating in the fun today!
